Rice is a staple food. With the variations in the price of rice in the market, small businesses such as eateries are gravely affected. This study aims to know the impacts of rice price instability to the rice meals of eateries and how do owners budget their money without sacrificing their income when rice price rises. The market condition of the rice industry is in a constant change that disrupts the business operations of eateries considering that their income is affected. This study is conducted in Padre Noval and Dapitan Streets, Sampaloc, Manila that makes it easier and more feasible for the researchers. Data is gathered through interviews and distribution of survey questionnaires to eatery owners that serve as the key respondents. This study will provide the cost, effects and coping strategies for eateries. Thus, it will benefit them through the course of their business.
