Innumerable applications in the field of physics, makes nickel sulphide nanoparticles an attractive area of research. ,Nickel sulfide (NiS) has received attention due to their potentials in the field of semiconductor devices.There are various synthesising methods of Nickel sulphide to study its optical properties and its applications as well. Now we have discuss synthesis method ,optical properties and applications of nickel sulphide. Nickel sulphide NiS nanoparticles were successfully synthesised by co-precipitation method .Size and structure of nickel sulphide nanoparticles are can be controlled by during reaction by varying pH and capping agent .The structure and morphology of the prepared nickel sulphide nanomaterials were characterized by XRD, and optical properties are measured by UV-VIS, PL. Particles size of Nanomaterials are calculated by Scherer formula and is found to be about . The optical absorption analyses of the samples are performed found to be in UV-vis range . Nickel sulphide NiS nanoparticles can be directly used as a counter electrode in Quantum Dot Dye Sensitized Solar cell (QD-DSC), Electrode for a high performance Supercapacitor ,non- enzymatic glucose sensor ,Lithium ion batteries and Thin film solar cell.
