Hashimotos Disease Hashimotos is a disease that causes your thyroid to attack your immune system
Hashimotos is a disease that causes your thyroid to attack your immune system. I am researching Hashimoto’s Disease because everyday my mom and step sister suffer from it. Also I have a high risk of getting Hashimoto’s because doctors believe it could be genetic.
Symptoms of Hashimoto’s: You don’t really notice symptoms besides your glands being a little swollen but your glands could also just be swollen because you have a sore throat. Hashimoto’s disease progresses over years and causes chronic thyroid damage. When you should see a doctor is when you are tired for no reason, dry skin, or constipation. You should also see your doctor anyways for periodic thyroid checkups.
Prevention of Hashimoto’s:
Cause of Hashimoto’s is an autoimmune disease: Your immune system creates antibodies that damage your thyroid gland. It is unknown why the antibodies attack your thyroid. Different things cause you of getting this disease such as: heredity, sex, and age. There is usually inflammation in your thyroid which is also called underactive thyroid gland(hypothyroidism). People around a lot of radiation are more likely to get Hashimoto’s. Your thyroid is ” located in the front of your neck”(web md). Basically anyone can develop hashimoto’s disease, but usually its middle age women but can also occur in men. If you don’t treat Hashimoto’s if can lead to a lot of different health problems.
